I watched a free screening of Hitman's Bodyguard tonight. I received this through my AMC Stubs membership. I'm in a mid-size midwest town of 60k. Think farmers, rednecks, meth addicts, opioids, etc, it's really as bad as TV portrays it. Theater was only 40% full, that surprised me for a free movie.
I really enjoyed the movie. Quite a few good laughs. RREYN and SLJAC have always been good as seemingly off the cuff remarks and (sarcastic) humor. It looked like a few impromtu one-liners made it through the process, and came off great. Several great action sequences including an extended simultaneous boat/car/motorcycle chase near the end.
Lots of gratuitous violence. Head and body bullet shots, broken bones, etc. The fight sequences are fast paced and well edited. I doubt that SLJAC did most of his own fighting, but it's hard to notice.
There's a love story thrown in, but it doesn't detract from the main focus (action/comedy). It didn't seem extra and actually added to the overall story.
It's a must watch if you like these guys and are into this type of movie.
