Not just that but other than the Marvel opening and 2nd weekends, the top 10 barely crosses $60 million.
Last weekend's Top 10 made $36 million .... we're hitting a month where at least one movie every weekend should be making that amount. Dear Evan Hansen was never going to do it, even before COVID. There needs to be consistency and the only way that's going to happen is if these studios stop releasing movies on VOD and streaming simultaneously as theatrical. I would have gone to see Suicide Squad two or three times more in theaters but I didn't need to since it was on HBO Max. I liked Many Saints just fine but I won't go back to theaters to see it. It's on HBO Max. Heck, even Candyman, I needed to see it again for an interview and i just shelled out $20 (begrudgingly) to rent it.
