The latter-day Clarice Starling has two previous Oscar nominations on her varied filmography. Ms. Moore was cited by the Academy in 1997 as a Best Supporting Actress nominee for her role in Paul Thomas Anderson's Boogie Nights. Two years later, she earned a Best Actress nod for the film adaptation of Graham Greene's The End of the Affair. Miramax hopes to extend its streak of Best Picture nominees to 10 straight years with this adaptation of the popular novel by E. Annie Proulx.
