LAT on marketing [SHAME]. Cinemark declined to book the film. Antibody Dec 01, 10:50

I think the answer to that probably depends on the movie. It kind of sounds like in this movie, it was necessary. {nm} Ruthian23 Dec 01, 12:05

Disagree. The MPAA are Puritans that censor expressions of artful sexuality, while premitting violence. {nm} Antibody Dec 01, 12:12

both should be carefully reviewed. Oleg Max Dec 01, 12:34

How many NC-17 movies do they make, though? Not many. In fact, it's usually the other way. They make movies that might have been better Ruthian23 Dec 01, 13:04

I can't watch Mulligan movies...she looks too much like the only ex-girlfriend who matters. {nm} tawdryhepburn Dec 02, 10:13

Just my opinion, but strike one against the MPAA is that they are so secretive DTravel Dec 01, 14:07

Realistically as much as people don't want to talk about it, I think it comes down to what religious belief system you have as to whether or accountant_4_Jesus Dec 01, 14:45

Why is sex or nudity unsuitable? Your premise is absurd and self loathing. Your body isn't sinful! {nm} tawdryhepburn Dec 01, 13:35

Marcus and Carmike Cinemas also refuse to book the film because of the rating. I talked to reps from both this week. {nm} HarryWarden Dec 01, 14:41
