Jeff Bridges [JBRID] plays a hard-living, down on his luck country singer in a feature role that many are already calling this year's The Wrestler. Moviegoers openly embraced the end of the world as the disaster film 2012 [2012S] swept up an estimated $65 million in its debut. Roland Emmerich [REMME] delivered the digital mayhem audiences have come to expect from the director of Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow. Knowing they're now too old to still be playing the perpetual man-childs (man-children?), Adam Sandler [ASAND], Chris Rock [CROCK], Kevin James [KJAME], David Spade [DSPAD] and Rob Schneider [RSCHN] have decided to be Grown Ups [GRWUP]. Unfortunately, five comedians in one film does not mean five times the laughs. Maturity seems to have suck the funny out of their bones as evident in the trailer for what looks to be a bland and generic comedy.
