New trailer for Man of Steel

Warner Bros. has uploaded an online trailer for the Superman reboot Man of Steel [SUPR2] that pays off the viral marketing campaign.   General Zod issues an ultimatum for humnakind to turn over their fellow Kryptonian Kal-El or he will begin to kill millions of earthlings.  The trailer then seques into non-stop action and destruction, all set to the film's soundtrack featuring Hans Zimmer's update of the classic Superman theme by John Williams. 
June 14th can't arrive soon enough.

New trailer for The Wolverine

Fox has unsheathed the full, theatrical trailer for the prequel/sequel The Wolverine [WOLV2] starring Hugh Jackman [HJACK]  Logan visits modern Japan where there might exist a cure for his immortalilty and the death of Jean Grey, played by Famke Janssen [FJANS], that haunt his dreams.   Directed by James Mangold [JMANG], The Wolverine opens on July 26th.

Box Score: Star Trek faced the wrath of fans

Despite finishing atop the weekend box office, the sci-fi sequel Star Trek Into Darkness [TREK2] vastly underperformed with an estimated $70.6 million weekend and $84.1 million since opening on Thursday.  That barely topped 2009's Star Trek which had a $75.2 million weekend and $79.2 million in its first four days.  Despite the goodwill to J.J. Magnet Releasing has revealed the official trailer for the sci-fi film Europa Report [EUROP] on Apple iTunes, where it will debut on VOD June 27th before hitting theaters on August 2nd.

Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions has released the domestic trailer for the action drama Redemption [HUMNB], known as Hummingbird in the U.K..  Jason Statham [JSTAT] stars as an ex-Special Forces soldier who avoids a military court martial and hides in the London criminal underworld  by assuming the identity of another man.  Redemption opens in limited release on June 28th.

First trailer for Last Vegas

CBS Films has dropped the teaser trailer for the comedy Last Vegas [LASTV], aka The Hangover: Senior Edition. Michael Douglas [MDOUG], Robert De Niro [RDENI], Morgan Freeman [MFREE] and Kevin Kline [KKLIN] play four old friends who visit Sin City for one of their bachelor party, apparently sponsored by Red Bull.   Last Vegas hits theaters on November 1st.

Warner Bros. has unleashed the full, theatrical trailer for the sci-fi actioner Pacific Rim [PACRM], which is not that different from the previous Conventiion trailer.  The apocalypse gets cancelled on July 12th.

Walt Disney has launched an extended promo trailer for the animated Planes [PLANE] set above the world of Cars, but not made by Pixar.  The majestic trailer is set completely to instrumental music, with no dialogue or jokes to "ruin" the scenary.   Planes lands in theaters on August 9th.

Universal has released the first, full trailer for the sci-fi action sequel Riddick [RIDC2].  Vin Diesel [VDIES] reprises his role from 2000's Pitch Black and 2004's The Chronicles of Riddick.  Karl Urban [KURBA] returns from the sequel joined by Jordi Molla, Katee Sackhoff and Dave Bautista.  Directed by David Twohy [DTWOH], Riddick opens in theaters on September 6th.
