Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie in the same movie?



The latest round of musical chairs casting for The Tourist [AZIMR] has settled on Johnny Depp [JDEPP] and Angelina Jolie [AJOLI]. The pairing would be the first time these two hugely popular A-list celebrities star in a film together.  Depp takes over for departing Sam Worthington [SWORT], who himself came on when Tom Cruise [TCRUI] exited.  Jolie previously replaced Charlize Theron [CTHER].  Alfonso Cuaron [ACUAR] is the latest director in talks for the remake of the 2005 French film Anthony Zimmer.

Depp was expected to next star in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides [PIRT4], scheduled to go into production in Spring 2010.    With The Tourist starting production in February, the return of Jack Sparrow may have to wait a little while longer.
