I understand why Sony would keep the title for brand recognition, but calling this remake The Karate Kid [KFKID] instead of The Kung Fu Kid is an insult to the Chinese, not to mention the classic 1984 original. Karate is a Japanese martial art that is as different from the Chinese marital art Kung Fu as Judo is different from Taekwondo. Anyhow, Jaden Smith [JSMIT] stars as the American fish out of water in China, while Jackie Chan [JCHAN] takes over the Mr. Miyagi-like role. Unfortunately, "take your jacket off, put it on" doesn't quite have the same ring as "wax on, wax off". We all put on and take off clothes every day, does that mean we all know Kung Fu, I mean Karate?
