Sony has finally released the first trailer for The Green Hornet [GHRNT] starring the most unlikely actor to play a masked crimefighter, Seth Rogen [SROGE]. The action comedy is directed by Michel Gondry [MGOND] though one couldn't tell as his flairs are missing from the generic set pieces. The story does right by presenting Rogen as a spoiled rich kid who only gets serious after his media mogul father dies mysteriously. He decides to fight crime with the help of his father's valet Kato, played by Jay Chou [JCHOU]. However you splice the trailer though, Rogen still comes off as a stoner trying to play a masked crimefighter rather than an actor losing his persona to become a believable masked crimefighter. His Green Hornet even seems like the sidekick comedy relief for the real superhero Kato. Originally scheduled for release this summer and then this Christmas, The Green Hornet was pushed back until next Januray, supposedly to allow time for 3D conversion.
