Sony has revealed the first trailer for the political drama The Ides of March [IDESM] directed by George Clooney [GCLOO]. Ryan Gosling [RGOSL] stars as a presidental campaign press secretary who finds himself involved in a political scandal that threatens the presidency prospects of his candidate, played by Clooney. Paul Giamatti [PGIAM] and Philip Seymour Hoffman [PSHOF] co-star as the rival campaign manager and senator, respectively. The film is based on the play Farragut North written by Beau Willimon, which was loosely based on the 2004 Democratic primary campaign of Howard Dean.
