Adapted from the novel by Peter Cameron, The City of Final Destination follows an Iranian-born student who travels to Argentina to get permission from a deceased author's wife in order to write his biography. However, his appearance forces the family to confront their long-buried issues. Anthony Hopkins heads the cast that includes Omar Metwally, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Hiro Sanada and Laura Linney. James Ivory directs the adaptation by Ruth Prawer Jhabvala.
