One of Hollywood's oldest and most famous studios, 20th Century Fox began with the 1935 merger of the Fox Film Corporation and 20th Century Pictures. Following the merger, 20th Century Fox banked heavily on its two major stars, Shirley Temple and Tyrone Power. Films such as 1936's Captain January and 1939's Jesse James helped bring prosperity to the company, and by the 1940s, 20th Century Fox was clearly one of the most powerful studios in Hollywood. Media mogul Rupert Murdoch purchased 20th Century Fox in 1985.
The Fox Studio Fund will invest in upcoming films distributed domestically by Fox Movies, Fox Atomic and Fox Searchlight.
Studio Funds delist and relist annually in September.
