Warner Bros. has finally debuted the first trailer for the supernatural comedy Dark Shadows [DRKSH] on Apple. Johnny Depp [JDEPP] and director Tim Burton [TBURT] teams up once again to adapt the TV series from the late 1960s. Depp stars as Barnabas Collins, a wealthy playboy in 1752 who gets turned into a vampire by a heartbroken witch, played by Eva Green [EGREE]. He awakens in 1972 to find his estate Collinwood Manor in disrepair and inhabited by his descendants, who are a dysfunctional bunch ruled by Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, played by Michelle Pfeiffer [MPFEI]. While the trailer has a certain goofy charm, how will today's young moviegoer react to what looks like the less famous neighbors of The Addams Family. Dark Shadows is set to open on May 11th.

What. The. Hell. They've taken a smart, sexy, sci-fi / horror show and made it into a screwball sex comedy. Who are they trying to appeal to?

IDK... I know fans of the show are dreading the film based on the trailer, but with all things Tim Burton/Johnny Depp, things are not always what they appear to be.
