Walt Disney has launched the teaser trailer for the action adventure The Lone Ranger [LONER], the next franchise from the folks behind Pirates of Caribbean. Armie Hammer [AHAMM] stars as the masked gunslinger of the Amerian West, while Jonny Depp [JDEPP] plays as his side-kick Tonto. Or is it the other way around, Depp gets top-biling as the masked hero Tonto while Hammer plays his cowboy side-kick.
Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice--taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
The expensive production almost never got started due to high costs, especially the railroad sequences, which is now evident to be crucuial to the storyline. The Lone Rangeropens July 3rd.
