Fox Searchlight has released the first trailer for the drama Never Let Me Go [NLMGO] on Apple. Adapted from the novel by Kazuo Ishiguro, the film stars Carey Mulligan [CMULL], Keira Knightley [KKNIG] and Andrew Garfield [AGARF] as three teenagers who have spent all their life at a boarding school. The trailer pretty much gives away the premise that Never Let Me Go is a high-brow version of The Island. Fox Searchlight probably figures the setup was going to be spoiled anyways and didn't want the movie to hinge on a trick ending ala M. Night Shylamalan. Instead, Never Let Me Go, according to the official synopsis, is a remarkable story of love, loss and hidden truths that posed the fundamental question: What makes us human?
