In the old HSX days when posting, if there was "no message" inside a post players would put "nm" at the end of their post
so that people didn't click to see what was "inside" the post..only to find out there was nothing inside.
In those days, HSX's computer did not automatically put "nm" on the post if there was 'no message' inside. Players did this to be courteous to others so they wouldn't waste time clicking on a post, only to find there was nothing inside it.
As mrbinns stated, it simply means 'no message' but today the computer automatically places that on a post when nothing is inside.. so 'nm' simply means: "no message" (inside).
