They're shooting the remake of the 1980's film Red Dawn and are filming in Detroit. On Monday, they were just a few blocks from my work so during lunch I ventured over to the set. Amazing how if you look confident and don't hesitate when you pass security, they let you right by. They were only shooting 1 day in this location, but I guess that's a good thing, traffic was a MESS leaving work that day.
Instead of taking the shuttle to my parking lot back to my car after work, I ended up walking back. Passing the bank of trailors, I saw lead actor Chris Hemsworth [CHEMS].
Here are a few shots:
Amazing, this was just a Graphic Design School yesterday. Crazy how things change so quickly once your contry is invaded.
I think this guy is the one in the tank that'll be coming down the street. Notice the car in the background that has a camera attached to the front. The camera is pointed forward and is getting the shot driving down the street.
Look at that hansom guy, he should be in movies.
That building there is my hospitals' health club. This picture was taken yesterday, the day after the shoot. Those props are still there. I wanted to swipe one of those metal X looking things (actually made of wood), but wasn't sure if that'd be a good idea. So I just ended up grabbing a little of that red and white tape.
