I'm not sure about that... The Grand Budapest Hotel did very well in 2 locations last week (4 theatres), and got 66 this weekend.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if it neared the top 10, oreven cracked it. Last weekend's #10 film (12 Years A Slave) did 2.11m in 1065 locations, with a 1,981 tally per (for the weekend).
Grand Budapest did 800k in 2 locations. I know it means nothing in terms of adjustments (at least not yet), but it will have a small impact on this weekend. Pompeii, About Last Night, 3 Days to Kill, and Robocop are all losing a significant amount of locations, so cracking the top 10 isn't that far out of the realm of possibility. It won't adjust like the other films, but it'll be very interesting to see what happens this weekend with it.
I wouldn't be surprised to see it expand again next week, but I'm just speculating. I'm sure there are other traders that know better.
