Let's Be MovieCritics! (me - Ping Pong Summer: B, Into The Storm: B-)
Ping Pong Summer: A near perfect capturing of a very specific time in 1980's America. If, like me, you came of age around the summer of 1985 (when the film is set), this should transport you back better than any recent 80's nostalgia film I can think of. The specific details are wonderful. Yet I didnt love the movie, a bit lacking in plot and characters
Into The Storm: C- level plot, fx. But Im a sucker for band of survivors-who will live and die type films (think Poseidon Adventure). It comes down to whether you get invested in the characters, which despite the mostly no-name cast, I did.
