We both know that Sony, Warner, and Fox didn't have the balls to make any of these films. Why would you take it personally?
You yourself said I wasn't "looking in the right place" for a good movie.
I agree that you're not looking in the right place if you're looking to Hollywood to make great movies, because obviously they don't.
We should be looking to the companies that DID believe in these artistic visions and took the risks to bring them to life.
When the second set of Star Wars films came out, what was more important, that Lucas Film created the film, or that Fox released it? Do we really have to even ask that question?
Yes, it's great that the studios release these films. That's great. But c'mon man, make some real movies that mean something for crying out loud.
Hollywood isn't even a part of it anymore. Unless your definition of great filmmaking is Fantastic Four Four and Swamp Thing 8.
