Talking about - the hype to get people excited about watching the movie so they come out opening weekend, all the air time and magazine pages spent promoting it, all the time we spend reading about or watching those things, etc. The time I spend reading about movies, thinking about movies, playing HSX could obviously be spent more productively.
But I also think that if we didn't do this about movies, we'd do it about something else equally as trivial. (And we already do - because it's also true for other media like books and TV shows, it's true for cars and cellphones, it's true for fashion and shopping malls and IKEA, etc)
