Saying "new industry record" is pretty tepid, IMO. 2013 was the first year to even have Tuesday previews for the Thanksgiving openers.
Audience habits have changed a lot since then, and previews before the opening weekend are now the expectation rather than something only the GFBs are clued in on.
Also, the previous record "holder" was a disappointing flop.
