Okay so instead of narrowing to just 6 movies and probable combinations I threw it open to 11 movies (NEMO2, CAPA3, XMEN6, PETS, TARZN plus 6 largest unreleased movies as per Kaigee site's gross table).

Excluding impossible combinations like CAPA3>NEMO2 etc. but allowing all improbable combinations I get 3467 possible outcomes of the top5. This includes hilarious combos like PDRGN TARZN ICEA5 GHST3 NEMO2 though.I did assume that NEMO2 was good enough to make the cut and excluded combinations that did not include it. I wish I hadn't. would have been even more hilarious but would have had tens of thousands more combinations.

Based on this I notied the following:

It is now impossible for anyone to obtain a perfect score of 10.

Assuming anything is possible box office wise, only one player cannot win based on any combination. Solo or otherwise.

23 players technically have a path to a solo win. daveart, Snidly, tealfan and nummy all have over 100 possible combinations each that would see them the solo winner.

The same four players (in the order nummy, daveart, tealfan, Snidly) also have the four highest numbers of combinations leading to a shared win. Though many players are in the multiple hundreds on this number.

The combination that would lead to the higest average score achieved by the entire cohort would be PETS NEMO2 SUICD CAPA3 TREK3 = 5.088

Summer Pick 5: fish gotta swim, heroes gotta fall tealfan Jul 11, 18:31

Oooo sweet! Joint 4th, I think it's Nummys to take though! {nm} RickandMorty Jul 11, 18:33

I don't think so - I think it's wide open (although I think I'm done:)... {nm} TwoMisfits Jul 11, 18:37

Look at the people with PETS as their 3rd pick - there are some with the potential to get 8 points depending on how SUICD or BORN5 do {nm} JDolphin Jul 11, 20:09

nummy has 5 in the bank, and could get to 7. The GBlaylock Trio have 3, but they could get to 8. tealfan has 4, could reach 6. second gary Jul 12, 06:27

actually also andy007 and tfeeney could get 8, and if SUICD is not the hit and does less than XMEN there are 4 more for 8 possible {nm} JDolphin Jul 12, 12:00

Hey, I thought the kaigee site was down (missing Starbonds adjusts) how is the pick 5 still working? {nm} one_cent_girl Jul 11, 18:59

if I was to guess, the Starbonds adjusts have completely different code?...or rely on different data feeds from HSX? {nm} tealfan Jul 11, 19:31

On the stars board, Kaigee said he's having hosting issues. Meaning? I don't know. {nm} pennystocks2 Jul 11, 19:54

You get a gold star, different code, runs once a day, only pulls data from a few pages {nm} KaiGee Jul 11, 20:21

I posted an update on the Life board {nm} KaiGee Jul 11, 20:20

Thanks for the info KaiGee I miss your most excellent website. {nm} pennystocks2 Jul 11, 22:04

So I'm guessing my spectacular choices of IDAY2 and TBFG at 4 and 5 are......not exactly going to work out. Initech Jul 11, 21:44

Your choices were less spectacular as mine. I have a good chance at being last, and not for the first time in SP5. {nm} second gary Jul 12, 05:26

But you should look at the CAPA3, NEMO combinations - they may only get 2 points but the other movies get them up to 8 points. {nm} JDolphin Jul 12, 12:08

I out this in a spreadsheet and looked at the PETS in 3rd place and all of them had CAPA3, NEMO so I started looking at possible points - I JDolphin Jul 12, 12:15

I still prefer the GBLaylock Trio. I have all their records. :) {nm} second gary Jul 12, 13:56

ha!...on vinyl of course {nm} tealfan Jul 12, 15:05

I have decided it is an impossible outcome so dicounted it. Took long enough as it was :) {nm} Wrath_crfd Jul 12, 16:28

Oh, I was thinking most points - not actual top 5 movies {nm} JDolphin Jul 12, 16:34

I thought that might have been the case. All participants entries were included in my numbers. {nm} Wrath_crfd Jul 12, 23:57

But the rest of the stats were interesting, I always love looking at possible combinations {nm} JDolphin Jul 12, 12:18

thanks, Wrath!...like the saying goes: easy to play, difficult to master...that's why I've never won =P {nm} tealfan Jul 12, 09:18

Damn IDAY2, i have it on 4th place. {nm} Filmstardust Jul 12, 07:47
