I started thinking though, I was 21 when this came out and it was all the rage. But most of the horror crowd isn't nostalgic, because they grow out of it.

So the current 17 - 21 year old crowd wasn't born when this came out to 4 years old at the time. For the most part, the impact of the original is lost on them, as that movie was an experience in the theater and was groundbreaking documentary style at the time.

Makes sense this film would come in under expectations. I had it at $18M earlier in the week and I think I'm way high after the midnights came in.
