Kind of a toss-up, it was the only wide on 2/25 and will be the only wide on Halloween weekend.
If it stayed on 2/25 it was obviously going to be dumped (you don't need a ton of time to market a horror movie, but less than a month to release is tight). Kind of still a dump of a release date, but the bet presumably is that whatever level of concern COVID will be by then will be less than it is now.
