For me, I use a radar on select stocks and bonds when I'm also holding a max position (short or long). I use the radar to see where the
security is trending. If I've been holding a stock long for a while, and it's been green for a while, I don't effectively know if it's already peaked, or is still going up. If the stocks is slowly bleeding out, unless I have a really good memory, all I see is a nice green, but my profits are dwindling and I don't know it. If I suspect that a stock is bleeding out, I'll radar it in the opposite direction of my max holding, and that way, I can see which way it's going over the course of a few days or a week and adjust my max position accordingly.
