A few words about "The Bucket List"

Posted by: StarBondFund on Oct 11, 14:31

In my years at HSX, code words have crept into the lexicon.  "312.50" and "The Horn of Gondor" to name a couple.

A couple of years age, BlueDuck created a page on Project Genome to track StarBonds that had the potential to be Delisted due to Inactivity, and named it after the MFREE JNICH movie, "The Bucket List."

For the newer players, StarBonds ("MAY") be delisted, at TAG, if they have had no attached projects for at least 3 years.  Directors tend to get more lattitude.  The list generally appears twice a year, but there is no set time.  When it occurs, it is a surprise.  Boom. They are gone.

Academy award winners like CHER, long time actors who have retired like GHACK and SCONN, newcomers whose careers just stopped or took another turn like JLLOY, BSPEA or JBUSE.  It goes on and on.

BONDS could and would invest in these StarBonds if the dRoi seemed correct.  In the past, September and February/March, the dates that these Delists occured, were good times for the fund, as the fund had a lot of cash.  This year the fund IPO'd in March and the Delist was very early, probably due to the new version of HSX coming in June.

When will the next one be?  Normally NOW, but it may be too soon.  But I am going to post analysis from time to time.   When I do, I am showing the list of StarBonds who have not have a movie released since March of 2007.  The shortest on the list, PSTEW, was March 23, 2007 TMNT.  If he gets attached to a new XMEN, well he is off the list.  GTORR's last was a week earlier and CKILB 2 weeks before that.  All others last movies were January 2007 or earlier.

I am tracking 2 directors on the list, IREIT and TFIEL so they probably will not get delisted.  On the other hand, in analyzing the list there are a lot of StarBonds that are far below their tags with HUGE percentage differences.  I am going to post the percentage differance to assist you, the reader in trying to decide whether or not to invest.

In posting dROI, I have arbitrarily chosen March 26, 2010 for the calculation.  That is the last Friday of March.  If the Delist occurs sooner, the dROI will be higher.

These investments are not really for the small investor.  If your portfolio is not over 100Million, or perhaps even 200M, these are not for you as you will be tying up a lot of H$.

Purchasing 20K shares of these 31 Starbonds will cost over 12M at today's prices and the approximate gain, if ALL reach their TAG is about 11M. But it will not be all and there is no guarantee of how long that will take.

Got that....good,
