havent seen newsroom yet, but i think sorkin gets criticized for how one-sided he is politically (very liberal)

That's what I've picked up. Plus, the show is a homage to a widely distrusted and dying trade.

I think it's also his personality and quirks. He often comes across as know-it-all, smug, adversarial, anti-Internet, kind of sexist, etc

I see, as I have never seen a single episode of West Wing; I thought the dialouge and pace were pretty cool. Same w/ the factoids

Actually ever since Sports Night which came 1st and was better than the other 2 (at least the season - some of the best tv ever!)
