Description
American Caesar is the modern adaptation of the Shakespeare tale. Set in modern day Washington, a populist general ascends the presidency with his former war hero friend as his aide. Once in power, the president takes on takes on characteristics of Julius Caesar. As the former war hero with Brutus attributes sees his friend's transformation, the story of Caesar and Brutus replays itself. Peter Morgan is rewriting the screenplay by William Nicholson.
