Description
Sarah Polley makes her directorial debut with the emotional drama Away From Her. The story centers on a man who is coping with his wife's Alzheimer's after she is institutionalized. He is sent reeling when she transfers her affections to a fellow patient at the nursing home. Julie Christie, Olympia Dukakis, Michael Murphy and Alberta Watson star in the film which debuted at the 2006 Toronto Film Festival. Polley adapted the screenplay based on a short story by Canadian writer Alice Munro.
