Description

E. Elias Merhige was born in 1964 in Brooklyn, New York. Merhige is best known for directing 1991's Begotten, a story about the suicides and murders of various gods. The fantasy starred Brian Salzberg, Donna Dempsey, and Stephen Charles Barry. In 2000, Merhige directs Shadow of the Vampire, a tale recounting the story behind the filming of the German movie Nosferatu during the 1920s. Shadow of the Vampire stars John Malkovich, Willem Dafoe, and Carey Elwes.
