In 1981, Hugh Hudson made quite a cinematic impact with his beautiful drama Chariots of Fire. The true story of two British track athletes competing in the 1924 Summer Olympic won the Oscar for Best Picture, Best Score (how can anyone forget that catchy theme music), Best Costume, Best Screenplay and earned Hudson a well-deserved nomination for director. He follwed that marvelous film with a grand, adventure-romance called Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes. Next came a revolutionary war drama, aptly titled, Revolution, which starred Al Pacino and Donald Sutherland. Other credits include My Life So Far and Lost Angels. In May 2000, Hudson teams with Kim Basinger and Vincent Perez in the adventure-drama I Dreamed of Africa, which tells the true story of Kuki Gallmann and her journey from an uneventful life in Italy to the mystical and beautiful world that is Africa.
