In the film Joshua, Jesus Christ moves to a small town in the Midwest and goes to work as a carpenter. With a simple lifestyle and demeanor, he sparks suspicion in some of the town folks and finally gets confronted by the church leaders.
Adapted from Joseph F. Girzone's novel of the same name, Joshua, the Crusader Entertainment film began production in May 2001 in Chicago and Rome. F. Murray Abraham takes the role of a priest and Giancarlo Giannini appears as the pope, while Tony Goldwyn plays the mysterious stranger. If the film holds over, plans to adapt the rest of the books in the series might commence.
