Description

Ziyi Zhang will star in the Chinese biopic Mei Lan-fang, China's best known opera singer. She was responsible for bringing Peking Opera to Japanese and American audiences. Mei also refused to perform when the Japanese occupied China. Kaige Chen (The Promise) directs the film from a script co-written with Geiling Yan.
