Description
Based on the book Stung by writer Gary Moss, Owning Mahowny tells the story of a Toronto banker named Brian Mahowny who has access to a $20-million account and decides to embezzle $12 million on his little gambling habit. Having access to so much money causes him to lose touch of reality and gamble it all away. Philip Seymour Hoffman stars as Molony, while Minnie Driver plays his girlfriend. The script was adapted for the big screen by Maurice Chauvet and Richard Kwietnowski, who will also direct. Owning Mahowny is set up at Alliance Atlantis and H20 Motion Pictures with production scheduled to begin May 2001.
