This project details a destitute producer trying to make it big in Hollywood with a hot new actress. Al Pacino is set to star as the producer who secretly fills a role in his movie with a CGI actress named Simone. When the movie becomes a hit and Simone a star, the producer has to keep the fact that Simone is not a real person under wraps.
The New Line film will be directed by writer/director Andrew Niccol (Gattaca). Jason Schwartzman and Catherine Keener will round out the cast.
It had been erroneously reported that Niccol will be using a CGI character as Simone because he could not find a suitable actress. The story had meant for Simone to be CGI all along.
