Here, the amount that a stock goes up (or down) does scale with price, but the price tiers at which the scaling occurs is unknown by me.

Posted by: Paul2k on May 24, 16:40 in response to jwammo's post not sure how it works here, IRL, the bid and ask...

Buying 100k of a 2 dollar stock may only move it a penny or two, while buying 100k of a 10 or 20 dollar stock may move it 8-10 cents. And buying a stock worth 200 dollars may move it 20-40 cents per 100k.

And, as I said in my previous post, unscientific experience on my part shows that buying and then selling (or usually, covering, then reshorting in order to free up money) either nets out to no change, or a slight positive uptick of 1-5 cents. So if anything, there seems to be a slight bump given to trades that would cause a positive movement (buy/cover) versus trades that would cause negative movement (sell/short)

hey thanks! {nm}   jwammo on May 24, 13:45

Interesting. Are you getting a feed from HSX for the prices, or grabbing it yourself? Also, a note about your tip:   Paul2k on May 24, 14:06

shhh, its super-secret. To be honest, I wrote the tips section up real quick so I had enough for the ads.   jwammo on May 24, 15:04

not sure how it works here, IRL, the bid and ask differences get larger with the stock price, so price erosion is a factor. {nm}   jwammo on May 24, 16:08

interesting. Shorting here is also different than IRL, which is why it makes sense to cover/re-short {nm}   jwammo on May 24, 16:45

If anyone is interested in writing a tip or two for the tips page, I would gladly put it up : ) {nm}   jwammo on May 24, 15:05

Times when (%change)/(time) is the maximum are 1) at reset, 2) at time of news posting, and 3) the day(s) before/after adjust {nm}   PRodNano on May 24, 16:23

Cool site, btw {nm}   PRodNano on May 24, 16:24
