So Who Saw What Last Week? (me - Baahubali: The Beginning: B-, When Comedy Went To School: C+)
and the final half hour of Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2: (had it on for background noise) wow that was some laughable Z-grade cheese for sure
Baahubali: Lots of action in the style of 300, LotR, Gladiator, etc. There were many inventive whoa!-worthy moments, some action though felt too derivative of 300 et al and other was done in by poor/excessive cgi, but overall it was exciting. Some spectacular set design/style as well. As you'd expect, lots of songs, dancing and a romantic subplot, these were a bit weak here (tho the music was good). Also, the movie is hampered by being a Part 1, its missing half the story. I liked it but it may be too different for many. Yes, i was the only white guy there. Its just so rare that our theater brings in anything other than the basic hits, that i try to support any limited film they get.
When comedy went to school: Doc about standup comedy in the Catskills resorts. I love standup, so its nice to see some old comics reminisce, and I had no idea about the Jewish history in the Catskills, so that was interesting. Just overall it was a bit light on humor and info, with some odd directing choices
