Originally intended as one third of Miramax's Alien Love Triangle anthology, Imposter made such a good impression on Bob and Harvey Weinstein that they decided to expand the short film into a full-blown feature.
The original segment followed an engineer, played by Gary Sinise, who develops a weapon to fight off an alien attack, but who is suspected of being an alien himself.
The film's producers are in negotiation to bring Sinise aboard the feature film, along with co-stars Madeleine Stowe, Vincent D'Onofrio and Tony Shalhoub.
Gary Fleder directed the short, and is already attached to helm the feature.
