Description
As a former cover girl, Rene Russo found that her modeling assignments were becoming less and less glamorous. Although she had graced the cover of Vogue at age 19, she found herself modeling maternity wear for catalogues at age 29. Determined to begin a career with a little more longevity, Russo turned to acting. Her first noteworthy role was opposite Tom Berenger in 1989's Major League. Russo's career quickly gained momentum in the '90s, thanks to a role opposite Mel Gibson in 1992's Lethal Weapon 3. Since then, Russo has landed roles opposite Clint Eastwood in 1993's In the Line of Fire, and opposite Kevin Costner in 1996's Tin Cup. In 1998, Russo reprised her Lethal Weapon role in the franchise's fourth installment.
