Description
Based on a Michael Crichton novel, The 13th Warrior is the account of an Arab emissary named Ahmed Ibn Fadlan (Antonio Banderas) who comes into contact with a group of Vikings in the year 922 A.D. Dismissing the Norsemen as savages, Fadlan must nonetheless join them in a fight against the mysterious "mist monster," an unseen entity that appears to eat human flesh. Formerly sharing the same title as Crichton's Eaters of the Dead, The 13th Warrior received its new name mid-way through the project. The film will also star Omar Sharif and Anne Bancroft. John McTiernan, who helmed 1988's Die Hard and 1990's The Hunt for Red October, is the director.
