Description
What's Cooking presents itself as a lighthearted examination on the mixture of racial and ethnic ingredients that cook up a spicy stew which Los Angeles has become. Writer-director Gurinder Chadha presents an African-American family, a Jewish one, a Latino and Vietnamese one and focuses in on the unique complications and challenges each one faces over the serving of the Thanksgiving turkey. An all-star cast featuring Alfre Woodard, Joan Chen, Estelle Harris, Julianna Margulies and Mercedes Ruehl star in the film that was screened at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival. What's Cooking is set for a Fall 2000 release.
