Maybe in 2010, HSX needs to reassess its position on how to deal with limited releases that get a DVD release before the 12 weeks
For instance, Janky obviously seems to have gotten a theatrical release merely for contractual purposes and it obviously didn't matter enough for them to report box office (not that there was much to report).. so maybe there needs to be some sort of rule that if a movie is scheduled for a DVD release before it's reported any box office to ERC, it will delist on the Monday of its DVD release. The bonds aren't going to be adjusting either way but at least that gets the movie off the exchange freeing up resources. I think that keeping the stocks on the exchange for weeks/months after the DVD release serves no purpose because in most cases, they're no longer even playing in theaters at that point.
There are some exceptions of course... particularly the companies that do VOD simultaneously as theatrical like IFC or Magnolia (who does VOD often a month before theatrical) but there has to be a point where the 12-week system is just no longer feasible.
(Of course, this only tangentially has anything to do with bonds...)
