Description
After several years in the theater, British actor Mark Addy began his television career with a guest appearance on the BBC's A Very Peculiar Practice, followed by small roles on such BBC shows as Between the Lines and Ghostbusters of East Finchley. Addy finally earned regular spot on television in 1996, on the British police comedy The Thin Blue Line. After the show was cancelled, Addy quickly landed a lead role on the BBC's Sunnyside Farm, which aired in 1997. That same year, Addy appeared in the surprise British hit, The Full Monty, winning over American audiences with a role as an over-weight, under-employed steel worker. Addy's role in The Full Monty led to work in American films, including the Flintstones sequel, Viva Rock Vegas.
