Description
Based on Edith Wharton's novel of social climbing and gamesmanship in turn-of-the-century New York, The House of Mirth centers around a young socialite, played by Gillian Anderson, who is tragically torn between a man who will provide her status and wealth and a man who will provide her true love.
Adapted and directed by Terence Davies, Mirth also stars Eric Stoltz, Dan Aykroyd,Anthony LaPaglia, and Laura Linney.
