and House. Right?
There have been 25 FOX derivatives.....ONLY 3 made it to the full season...RSHOPE, CLVLND and FRINGE
8 made it to the 12-14 range, A couple were mid season, renewed then cancelled (DLHOUS, TRMSC and HUMTAR) and almost half did not make it to 10, incuding 2 that only had 2 showings (NASHVL and LONESR 2010's first casualty)
Fox has had trouble finding good pilots for shows that do not feature Bart Simpson, Cops or Simon Cowell.
Having said that, NEWGRL has its work cut out for it. Fox sit-coms get squeezed all around the schedule and better perfome well or see you in the next life. It is the only sit-com in its time slot, so it is a counter to Biggest Loser. DWTS results and NCIS LA, It has a shot at sampling. It has a shot at a time slot change with RSHOPE. The fact that it is currently 9PM shows and interesting faith in NEWGRL
Terra Nova has this look of scifi, although as we get past the pilot I am sure the effects get reduced. (Even Lost had that budget constraint) so it all comes down to the characters. A lot of scifi's have an expensive setup and lose all the viewers by losing the effects that got them into the door. Fox has already shown an Spring Schedule without it. Probably goes the whole 13 and needs to break out to get the other 9. I will sample but I have a feeling it may be 13 and out.
