My step-father buys storage lockers and has a sale once a month and makes a nice side income from those yard sales.
I sold all of my DVDs two summers ago to make the transition to blu-ray. I had nearly 800 seperate discs and I was able to recover about $3000.
Over the years I do not want to even count what I spent but the only ones that I could not sell was my complete series of The Sopranos. I really did not want to sell them but I have not watched a single episode since I tried to sell.
In Oklahoma we have "whole town" garage sales. This is where the town will charge you $25 to set up on main street and the community and surrounding towns will come and spend a good amount of money. These are done annually it towns of 10,000 people or smaller and it is usually the biggest event of the year for the smaller towns.
