The north claims it was all about slavery. The south claims it was hardly about slavery. The truth is in the middle. It was partly about states rights. You are just wrong if you think otherwise. A good portion of that WAS slavery but Lincoln was not forcing the southern states to give up slavery because he was trying to avoid the war. There was a lot of factors. People write the side of history they feel like they agree with. The north produced some of the most brutal tactis seen of that entire era which are never talked about. Lincoln hardly viewed the slaves of the south much better than the southerns themselves. Nobody talks about that either. It was a horrible episode of our history and we need to stop taking sides and just tell the history and let people hopefully learn from it.
