Description

George Butler directs the documentary examining Senator John Kerry's Navy tour of duty, his involvement in the peace movement and his political career. Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry is loosely based on a novel by Douglas Brinkley and includes footage and photos taken by Butler during his 35-year friendship with the Senator. This film premieres at the 2004 Toronto Film Festival.
