I got the feeling that that was the misunderstanding here. I meant that he is true to his own personality, style and character.

If you want to get real technical or philosophical about it, I hardly think we are masters of our own destinies or free to shape our own personalities. Calling personality character works for me, for this reason.

Also, English isn't, after all, my first language.
